The public consultation stage of the Scottish Government proposals on equal marriage has just under a month to go. I would like to draw your attention at this stage to a number of events around the consultation that have been organised by the Equality Network.
For the next ten days, volunteers in Glasgow and Edinburgh will be on the streets speaking to the public and encouraging them to respond to the consultation. If you’d like to get involved, the relevant dates, times, and contact details are available at Speak Out For Equal Marriage.
There will also be several local consultation events across Scotland, with the opportunity to speak directly to members of the Scottish Government. The first event is in the St Mungo Museum of Religious Art and Life in Glasgow on Wednesday November 9th at 6.30pm. There are further events throughout November in Edinburgh, Inverness, Dundee, and Dumfries. For more details and to register, go to the Equality Network event website.
The proposals are available to read in full, and a response can be made via the Scottish Government online response form or via the Equal Marriage website. The consultation period closes on December 9th.
